Telecommunications

The Company has had a decade-long role in the operation, renovation and construction of telecommunication networks ensuring the smooth operation of electric systems.

1./ Designing

The Telecommunication Network Management Department has prepared building drawings of numerous telecommunication equipment, fibre-optical substructures and optical connections for many new telecommunication substations. They prepare all documents of the new telecommunication connections necessary for obtaining the permits of the National Telecommunications Authority and of the competent public utility works. The Department undertakes to prepare system designs of telecommunication networks and study plans supporting strategic decision making processes.

2./ Operation

One key activity of the Telecommunication Network Management Department is that they ensure the allocation of appropriate resources for the operation of MVM’s telecommunication network. Ovit elaborates and operates management, maintenance and breakdown-recovery tasks ensuring the continuous operation of telecommunication functions necessary for the smooth operation of the electricity system. These full-scale tasks in the operation of key components of the telecommunication system are implemented by a well-trained staff and modern instrument and equipment pool. This operation covers SDH, PDH and microwave transfer equipment, substructures, optical connections (mounted on power lines or earth-cables) and all auxiliaries (security and fire-prevention in connection with current supply) necessary for the smooth and continuous operation of the network.

3./ Construction

The Telecommunication Network Management Department undertakes to install, deploy and commission telecommunication equipment, connections and systems.

They have the experience, qualifications and resources necessary for the full construction or laying of optical connections mounted on power lines or in substructures. In the past years, their professionals have gathered in-depth knowledge and experience in the construction and installation of state-of-the-art transmission equipment and system (SDH, PDH, DWDM) and have proven their abilities in different fields of the electricity industry and other industries. In line with the requirements of an integrated system, the Department hires qualified subcontractors for satisfying broad needs of customers to an excellent level of quality.
The Telecommunication Department has the necessary know-how for the installation of protective signal transmitting equipment. In the frame of building projects assumed by Ovit, they cooperate as an associate in the implementation of tasks in the field of telecommunication.
