Activities in the fields of electricity and control engineering for nuclear power plants

The Nuclear Power Plant Electric and Control Engineering Department is engaged in designing electric and control engineering equipment on the technologic and service support systems of Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd.

The unit is operating in the frame of three Departments.

Main activities of the Electric Department are:

• Maintenance, repair and fault clearing of electrical installations, distributors, cable networks, installation networks and hoists.
• Running of the laboratory of the electrical installations under maintenance, attendance of in-service tests.
• Trouble shooting of protective and lightning protection systems.
• Quality control of maintenance, repair and troubleshooting work under approved documents.

Main activities of the Control Engineering Department are:

• Maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of measuring loops and equipment in the fields of engineering control, IT and dosimetry.
• Maintenance of power governor and safety protection systems of the reactor.
• Maintenance and surveillance during working of the nuclear fuel transfer machine.
• Laboratory testing and calibration of technological and radiation physical equipment.
• Maintenance of communication, fire alarm and warning devices.
• Quality control of maintenance, repair and troubleshooting works under approved documents.

Main activities of the Electric and Control Engineering Installations Department are:

• Planning, coordination and execution of electric and control engineering projects, overhauls and maintenance jobs.
• Provision of technical, installation and commissioning documents required for construction.
• Organization and execution of building and installation works, guidance and supervision of subcontractors.
• Preparation, organization, guidance and evaluation of tasks during commissioning.
• Preparation of 'as-built' drawings and handing them over to the Client.
